It's well-made, like all the CCC b&w krimis, but just didn't inspire or engage me at all. I only got through it because of a fine cast.<br /><br />Everybody's done Jack the Ripper (even Star Trek and Babylon 5!), but at least this approach is a little more original - it's presumably based on Richard Mansfield, who was accused of being the Ripper purely because of his performance in "Jekyll and Hyde" on stage at the time.<br /><br />And frankly, I suspected who the killer was simply by watching the opening credits. And despite some interesting attempts at mis-direction, I was pretty much 100% certain after about 15 minutes!
